Description
MD COMBAT Custom Compression Pants, widely known in the combat sports market as spats or leggings, are one of the fastest-growing product categories in the global combat sports apparel industry. Driven by the explosive growth of no-gi BJJ, submission grappling, MMA training, and the increasing crossover between combat sports and general fitness culture, compression pants have moved from a niche training item into a mainstream product line that every serious combat sports supplier needs in their catalogue.
Our compression pants are manufactured in the same high-performance technical fabrics we use across our full compression range. Nylon-spandex at 80/20 and 82/18 delivers the stretch recovery, durability, and skin-smooth surface finish required for mat sports where friction against opponents, training surfaces, and gis creates constant wear stress. Polyester-spandex at 88/12 is the correct construction for full sublimation printing, producing sharp, vibrant, edge-to-edge designs that meet the visual standards of the competitive no-gi and MMA markets. All constructions are 4-way stretch throughout, with graduated compression from the waistband through the thigh and into the calf.
Technical construction details set combat-grade compression pants apart from general fitness leggings. Our spats feature flatlock seaming at every seam to eliminate raised edges that cause mat burns and skin irritation during ground work. The waistband is wide — typically 5 to 7 centimetres — with internal silicone grip printing to prevent rollover during takedowns and transitions. Gusset construction is reinforced for the extreme range of motion demands of guard play, leg locks, and wrestling positions. Ankle finish options include a standard hem, a stirrup foot loop for tucking into shoes, and a full foot panel for maximum coverage during cold-weather training.
Compression pants in the combat sports setting are used as standalone training bottoms in no-gi BJJ and submission grappling, as a base layer under MMA shorts and Muay Thai shorts during training, as an under-layer beneath wrestling singlets, as cold-weather training gear for all grappling and striking disciplines, and increasingly as a standalone competition garment in no-gi tournaments sanctioned by IBJJF, ADCC feeder events, and regional submission grappling organisations. They are also widely worn in mixed fitness, crossfit, and strength and conditioning programmes adjacent to combat sports training.
For brand owners and importers, compression pants are among the highest-margin products in the combat sports apparel category. Full sublimation allows completely unique designs per order, meaning your brand can offer exclusive colourways and graphics that differentiate your catalogue from competitors. We support full OEM and private-label production with custom woven waistband labels, silicone inner grip printing, custom ankle finish specifications, gender-specific patterns developed to your tech pack, and retail-ready packaging.
